Foundation for the Healing Force of the Amazon

In 1983, the Brazilian government created the Purus National Forest and appointed the non-governmental organization, CEFLURIS, as one of its administrators. CEFLURIS organizers and supporters later founded the community of Ceu do Mapia (Heaven of Mapia) in the Purus National Forest to live as "Guardians of the Forest".

In 1996, an American 501(c)3 non-profit organization, The Foundation for the Healing Force of the Amazon (FHFA), was founded to promote the preservation of the Amazon Rainforest by supporting an ecological and sustainable lifestyle and economy for the people of the Rainforest including education and quality of life.

Since its inception, FHFA has focused on rainforest protection by promoting value and ethics-driven development in communities we support. With a clear appreciation of the precious resources these forests provide to the planet as a whole, not the least of which is the oxygen we all breathe, the American founders seek to address the profound lack of financial resources available to the inhabitants of the rainforest regions, a lack that threatens their very survival as well as the survival of the Amazon Rainforest.

Many residents of the rainforest are dedicated to living a spiritually based life of love and union, honoring and preserving the natural environment, praising the divine, and serving needy people of the region on all levels. Of particular interest to the foundation are communities associated with Çéu do Mapiá, an intentional village founded in 1983 by Sebastião Mota de Melo, a well known healer of the region.

FHFA is a tax exempt, non profit organization holding 501(c)(3) status.
